The ASTM D4141M-22 standard describes two accelerated outdoor exposure procedures for assessing the weathering resistance of Coatings. Program A (black box) simulates a high-temperature environment and is suitable for materials under high-temperature service conditions, providing a stronger rate of degradation than open-rack direct exposure. Program C uses a reflection mirror to focus sunlight and simulate high-intensity UV exposure. The standard states that the results of the different procedures are not directly interchangeable and should be tested under multiple climate conditions to comprehensively assess the weathering resistance of Coatings.
