This standard provides a test method for determining enamel retention in a Coating system. It aims to evaluate the effect of the interaction of undercoat and finish coat on Glossiness. Measurement of the difference in finish coat Glossiness relative to a smooth surface is done by testing on undercoat using a standard top coat to determine the effect of a Coating system. This method can be used to evaluate enamel retention properties of undercoat/finish coat systems or different Coatings, helping manufacturers and users to optimize Coating formulations.
