SY 4042-1989 "Technical Standard for Powder Coatings in Steel Pipelines" is a petroleum industry standard that specifies the technical requirements for powder coatings in steel pipelines. The content covers coating material performance (adhesion, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, etc.), construction technology (pipeline surface pretreatment, powder lame plating process, curing temperature control), coating thickness detection methods (such as electromagnetic induction method) and mass acceptance rules. The standard is applicable to oil, natural gas and other steel pipeline anti-corrosion coating construction, through the specification of powder coatings selection and coating process, to ensure that the pipeline wall to form a uniform, dense protective layer, effectively resist the corrosion of the transport medium, for the steel pipeline coating design, construction and mass inspection to provide technical basis, help improve the pipeline service safety and service life.
