The GB/T 22804-2008 standard specifies a method for the determination of mercury content in pulp, paper and Cardboard. Specimens are digested by wet nitric acid method, processed under high temperature and high voltage conditions, and analyzed by Atomic fluorescence spectrometry, AFS. This method can detect mercury content as low as 0.02 mg/kg and is suitable for all kinds of paper materials. The standard provides an accurate detection method to ensure the safety and environmental friendliness of pulp and paper products.
