This specification specifies requirements for the manufacture of new fully enclosed wire-mounted pallet-style wooden boxes, which are used for the domestic and international transportation of general materials and supplies and bear no more than 2,500 lbs (1,134 kg). The specification covers different types and categories of wooden boxes, including four categories of materials and four types of entry methods, as well as different treatment methods. Wooden boxes can be classified into types I to IV. The materials range from sheathed wood to sheathed plywood. Treatment methods include anti-corrosion treatment (A and B) and no treatment (C). The performance of wooden boxes is affected by the mass of their components. The specification requires that all recycled and raw materials meet the standards and must not affect the products of Encasement. Performance testing includes wood Moisture content and galvanized wire coating adhesion, among others. This specification does not cover performance under all environment conditions.
