This standard specifies laboratory test methods for testing the protective capacity of transport containers and systems when subjected to horizontal impacts. These methods assess the resistance of Encasement products to specific environmental hazards during transport by simulating horizontal impacts in real transport and handling environments. Includes Method A (Simulation of Rail Vehicle Conversion Impact) and Method B (Unit Load Grouping Impact Test), which are designed to help design appropriate Encasement and transport schemes and ensure the safety of products. Test results can be used to optimize Encasement designs and prevent damage during transport and handling. This standard conforms to the principles of international standardization and is applicable to determine the Impact resistance performance of containers or systems.
