ASTM D3580-22 standard test methods are used to evaluate the resonant Frequency of products under vertical vibration. These tests are designed to help Encasement designers identify the resonant Frequency of products, so as to design an effective Encasement system that mitigates possible vibration damage during transportation. The standard includes two test methods: sinusoidal vibration resonance search (method A) and random vibration resonance search (method B). The two methods may produce different results, random vibration testing is more able to simulate the vibration in the actual transportation environment. The test results help to optimize product design and Encasement, reducing risks during transportation. The standard uses SI units and does not cover all safety issues. Users need to take appropriate safety measures by themselves.
