GB/T 6464-1997 "General Requirements for Field Test of Atmospheric Corrosion Testing of Metals and Their Coatings" is a national standard, which stipulates the general requirements for corrosion testing of metals and coatings in the natural atmospheric environment. The content includes the selection of the test site (typical corrosive environment such as industrial and marine), sample preparation (material pretreatment, installation and fixing method), test period setting, data recording (corrosion morphology, weight loss measurement, etc.) and results evaluation principles. The standard is suitable for evaluating the corrosion resistance performance of materials in the actual atmospheric environment, providing technical basis for the standardization and scientific nature of field corrosion tests, and assisting material weathering resistance research, protective coating design and service life prediction.
