The AATCC TM16-2017 standard specifies a set of test methods for determining the colour fastness of Spinning & weaving products under light conditions. The standard applies to a variety of Spinning & weaving raw materials and their colorants, finishing agents and treatment agents. Test methods include irradiation conditions of different Light sources, such as continuous or alternating irradiation of carbon arc lamps and Xenon-arc lamps, and glass filters. Color fastness to light is evaluated by exposing Spinning & weaving samples to a specific Light source at the same time as standard samples. Color changes are compared to evaluate their color fastness to light. The standard also includes specific methods for measuring Color changes using AATCC Gray Sample Cards or instruments, and indicates the existence of updated versions.
