The ASTM D2000-2018 standard is a classification standard for Rubber for Automotive use. This classification system covers the performance evaluation of vulcanized rubber materials (e.g. natural rubber, recycled rubber, synthetic rubber), especially rubber products for automotive applications. The standard classifies rubber products based on different characteristic material names, such as heat aging resistance and oil swelling resistance. This classification system is similar to SAE's steel numbering system, but is mainly used for rubber materials. The standard emphasizes that in the event of a conflict with the detailed specifications of a specific product, the latter shall prevail. Therefore, when selecting and specifying rubber products, it is recommended to always use the latest version to ensure compliance with the latest automotive requirements and standardization principles.
