The ASTM D5019-2011 standard specification applies to reinforced non-vulcanized polymer sheets made of chlorosulfonated polyethylene (PE) (CSM) for use as a single-layer roofing membrane exposed to weather conditions. The specification covers the physical performance requirements of the sheet, including thickness, breaking strength, elongation, Tear strength, low temperature bending, linear dimensional change, layer adhesion, hydrostatic resistance, ozone resistance, and weathering resistance. At the same time, the coating part of the sheet surface focuses on tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, ozone resistance, and water-absorption. The standard does not address roofing system design criteria such as fire resistance and material compatibility. All testing and performance requirements are based on MIN Minimum.
