GB/T 9789-2008 specifies methods for corrosion testing of metallic and inorganic coatings under sulphur dioxide atmosphere and condensation conditions. The standard was published in 2008 and came into force in 2009, replacing GB/T 9789-1988. The test is designed to evaluate the corrosion resistance performance of materials under sulphur dioxide atmosphere and condensation conditions. It applies to metallic and inorganic coatings, but not to coatings and varnishes. The test results should not be used directly to guide the corrosion resistance of materials in the actual environment.
