The Volvo VCS 1027, 149-0 standard defines an accelerated corrosion test (ACT) method for assessing the corrosion resistance of metals in chloride-containing environments. The test consists of a one-week main cycle consisting of two 12-hour sub-cycles: one controlled Humidity cycle and the other consisting of salt solution spraying. Sub-cycle 1 involves a Humidity cycle at 35 ° C and 95% RH, and sub-cycle 2 includes salt spraying and stages in drying. The standard simulates atmospheric corrosion conditions and is suitable for evaluating the corrosion resistance of metals in real environments.
