ISO 16474-2-2013 "Methods of Coating and Varnish Exposure to Laboratory Light sources, Part 2: Xenon-arc lamps" is an international standard for evaluating the weathering performance of coatings exposed to laboratory conditions. This standard describes in detail how Xenon-arc lamps can be used to simulate daylight and Glass-penetrated daylight conditions to reproduce the aging effects that coatings may experience in real use environments. Tests cover exposure with Xenon-arc lamps under wet conditions and involve controlled temperature, Humidity and/or wetting conditions. The standard specifies different types of Xenon-arc lamp and Filter combinations to meet the testing needs of different materials. The methods and requirements of ISO 16474-2-2013 help to evaluate the durability of coatings under light exposure and are important for the development of coatings and varnishes, quality control and the performance of the final product.
