ISO 16276-1-2007 is the first part of an international standard for the assessment and acceptance of adhesion (breaking strength) of protective coatings systems on steel structures. This standard mainly assesses the performance of coatings by means of pull-off test methods. It applies to any coating on steel substrates not less than 10 mm thick and describes the use of different types of pull-off test equipment. ISO 16276-1-2007 aims to ensure consistent adhesion of coatings when applied in the field, establishing acceptance and rejection criteria for coatings. In addition, the standard also specifies the selection and use of test equipment, as well as regulations for inspection areas and sampling plans to ensure the comparability and Reliability of test results.
