ISO 14713-1-2017 "Galvanized coatings, anti-corrosion guidelines and recommendations for steel in structures, Part 1: General principles for design and corrosion resistance" is a standard prepared by ISO/TC 107 Technical Committee that provides guidance and recommendations on design principles for articles requiring anti-corrosion galvanizing treatment and the level of corrosion protection provided by galvanized coatings when steel products are used in a variety of environments. This standard covers a variety of galvanizing processes including hot dip galvanizing, galvanizing, thermal spraying, mechanical platings and electrodeposition coatings. It emphasizes the importance of design considerations and the use environment for the performance of galvanized coatings, as well as methods for assessing corrosion rates under different environment conditions. ISO 14713-1-2017 replaces the 2009 edition with minor revisions to ensure conformity with the latest relevant international standards, such as ISO 17668 and ISO 9223.
