This standard defines a calculation method for the CIEDE2000 Color difference formula to accurately describe Color differences. Color spaces are not visually uniform, so CIE has standardized the CIELAB and CIELUV Color spaces to better reflect Color perception differences. The CIEDE2000 formula is an extension of the CIE 1976 Lab Color difference formula, which provides a more accurate measure of color difference by correcting for the interaction between luminance, chroma, and shade. This standard applies to the calculation of color differences between CIELAB L, a *, b * coordinates. It is mainly used for Color evaluation of reflective or transmissive objects, but not for Color stimulation of luminous areas of Light sources. The updated version of this document revises the normative references and makes minor adjustments to the content.
