This standard provides a method for determining the volume percentage of Coating non-volatile matter. The volume percentage of Coating non-volatile matter can be calculated by measuring Dry-Film density in combination with the non-volatile matter content determined according to ISO 3251. This method applies to coatings for measurement within any specified temperature and drying or curing time period and is applicable to all products applied by dipping. This document also specifies sheet shape and minimum mass requirements for testing and does not apply to Coatings that exceed the critical pigment volume concentration (CPVC). The implementation of this standard helps to accurately calculate the actual spreading rate of coatings and improve the accuracy of Coating performance evaluation.
