This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for aluminum pigments for coatings, including the application of general coatings, decorative coatings and protective coatings. The standard defines the performance characteristics of aluminum pigments such as Particle size distribution, hiding power and non-volatile matter in detail, and introduces new test methods, such as flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), to replace the old test methods. Compared with the previous version, the standard has updated the terms and definitions, removed some unnecessary clauses, and simplified sampling and testing procedures. This standard aims to improve the application effect and safety of aluminum pigments in coatings.
