The ISO 2493-1: 2020 standard specifies the test methods used to determine the bending resistance of paper and Cardboard. The standard describes the measurement of the bending resistance of paper or Cardboard at a specific bending angle (15 °) and bending length (50 mm or 10 mm) by the two-point loading principle. It applies to the measurement of bending resistance in the range of 20 mN to 10 000 mN and does not apply to corrugated fibreboards. The revision of the standard splits the previous ISO 2493:1992 into two parts to distinguish between different test principles and ensure the accuracy and conformity of the measurement results. The standards in this part help to accurately evaluate the bending resistance of paper and Cardboard.
