The ISO 2493-2: 2020 standard specifies the test method for the bending resistance of measurement paper and Cardboard using a Taber type tester. The standard applies to the determination of the required bending moment at a 50 mm bend length, when applying a load to a 38 mm wide vertically clamped specimen, so that the free end of the specimen is deflected by 15 °. For circuit boards prone to permanent deformation, the half-bend angle (7.5 °) can be used for testing. This method is particularly suitable for the testing of high gram weight papers. The new version of the standard has made technical revisions compared to the old version (ISO 2493-2: 2011) and updated the reporting data and editorial format. This standard helps to ensure that the bending performance of paper and Cardboard in practical use meets the requirements.
