This standard specifies a method for the determination of total chromium content in the liquid portion of Paints using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). This method is suitable for liquid coatings with a total chromium content ranging from 0.05% to 5% (m/m). This method is prepared for testing solutions in accordance with the relevant provisions of ISO 6713 or the Miscellaneous international standard and can be used as a referee method in the event of a dispute. The standard is intended to provide an accurate determination of chromium content to guarantee mass and safety of Coatings. The relevant Glassware and Reagent Specifications are found in ISO 385/1, ISO 1042 and ISO 3696.
