GB/T 9758.4-1988 is a Chinese national standard for the determination of "soluble" cadmium content in Paints and varnishes. The standard specifies two determination methods: flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and Polarography, which are suitable for Paints with cadmium content ranging from 0.05% to 5% (mass ratio). In the event of a dispute, flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) is used as an arbitration method. The standard is centralized by the National Technical Committee for Coatings and Pigment Standardization and aims to ensure the safety and environment friendliness of Coating products.
