The ISO 2812-2: 2018 standard "Determination of the resistance to liquids of paints and varnishes, Part 2: Immersion methods" specifies a method for assessing the resistance of a coating material to water by immersion. This standard applies to single or multi-layer coating systems and can help to assess the performance of coatings in an aqueous environment and, if required, to check their protective effect on substrates. This standard was prepared by SC 9 of the ISO/TC 35 paints and varnishes technical committee and published in 2018, replacing the 2007 edition. The updated version adds terms and definitions clauses, adjusts the angle and water temperature tolerances of the test panel holder, and modifies the requirements for rearranging the test panel. All parts of the ISO 2812 series can be found on the ISO website. For details, please purchase the official version of the standard for complete information.
