The international standard ISO 2815-2003 Paints and varnishes Buchholz indentation test specifies the method of indentation testing single or multiple coatings of coatings, varnishes or related products using a Buchholz indentation instrument. This test assesses the degree of residual deformation of coatings by measuring the length of the indentation, but is not suitable for products containing strong plasticizers. Test results are subject to time, temperature and humidity and are required to be performed under specified conditions to ensure comparability of results.
