This standard specifies the determination of alkyl phenol polyoxyethylene ethers in paper, Cardboard and paper products by high performance liquid chromatograph mass spectrometry. It is suitable for the analysis of octyl phenol polyoxyethylene ethers and nonyl phenol polyoxyethylene ethers with a detection limit of 0.3 mg/kg and a quantification limit of 1.0 mg/kg. The standard specifies a Sample Handling process including ultrasonic extraction of methanol, membrane filtration and detection using ESI cation mode to ensure accurate measurement of the concentration of these chemicals.
