ISO 4628-2-2016 Paints and varnish coatings aging - Assessment of the number and size of defects and the strength of uniform change in Appearance - Part 2: Assessment of the degree of blistering This part of the standard details a method for assessing the degree of intercoating blistering, determining the number (density) and size (2, 3, 4, 5) of the blister by comparison with the graphic standard. These standardized graphics are used to guide the assessment of the blistering condition of the coating surface, helping to evaluate the mass change of the coating during aging. The second part of the ISO 4628 series of standards is particularly suitable for the assessment of coating defects due to bubble formation and aims to improve the accuracy of coating mass control and comparative assessment through consistent assessment methods.
