This standard describes the steps for assessing the degree of coating chalking by the tape-paper method. This method is applicable to a variety of coating surfaces, both smooth and rough. Chalking is a fine powder phenomenon resulting from degradation of coating surfaces. This method provides an evaluation technique for relative ordering. The standard specifies how to determine the chalking grade in comparison with the graphic standard and provides a reference for visual evaluation lighting in ISO 13076.
