The ISO 1 2137-2: 1997 standard describes a method for testing the scratch resistance of coatings using a pointed tip. This method is suitable for assessing the resistance of single or multi-layer systems of paints, varnishes and related products to friction. The test is carried out by bending (annular or annular) stylus, which allows for effective comparison of the mar resistance of different coatings, especially between coated panels with significant differences in mar resistance. This method is not suitable for the tip pen test specified in ISO 1528-1 and ISO 1528-2.
