The ASTM 1535-2018 standard is based on the Munsell Color Sequence System to specify Color. This method is applicable to opaque objects and provides a simple method of visual Color description as an alternative to the Spectrophotometric method, spectra-trophotometry, and CIE systems. The standard supports the use of the Munsell Formula Guide to define Color tolerances and convert them to digital representations for Color selection and production process control. The Munsell system also serves as the basis for the Color language, linked to the Miscellaneous Color name and specification.
