This standard specifies two methods for determining the dynamic viscosity of coal asphalt for primary aluminum production: the ball displacement method and the cylinder swirl/spin method. Method A is suitable for asphalt that meets the newtonian fluid performance, and the measurement is carried out at a temperature above the softening point but below 180 ° C. Method B is suitable for Newtonian and non-newtonian fluid performance asphalt. Measuring temperatures can be higher than 180 ° C. This standard provides an important testing basis for carbon material quality control in primary aluminum production.
