The standard GB/T 2 2638.1 - 2 016 Test methods for aluminium foils, Part 1: Determination of film thickness specifies various methods for the determination of film thickness of aluminium foils. For aluminium foils with film thickness less than 0.10 mm, this standard provides the weight method and the vertical Optical inspection method for the determination of non-composite foils and composite foils. For aluminium foils with film thickness not less than 0.10 mm, the digital micrometer method is used for determination. The standard also quotes the definition of terms and numerical revision rules for aluminium and aluminium alloys to ensure the accuracy and conformity of the determination.
