The standard provides a method for evaluating the relative flame retardant performance of Coatings, in particular the effect of water leaching on the flame retardancy of Coatings under simulated high Humidity conditions. The tests include the determination of the weight loss and carbonization index of Coatings under flame and the evaluation of the effect of moisture on these parameters. The standard is mainly used to test the reaction of Coatings to heat and flame under laboratory conditions and is not applicable to the evaluation of actual fire conditions. The values expressed in SI units are the standard, and the values in parentheses are for reference only.
