This standard specifies a method for the determination of lithium oxide content in aluminum oxide, applicable to samples with lithium oxide content ranging from 0.005% to 0.20%. Lithium oxide content is calculated by adding muriatic acid to the sample in a PTFE sealing vessel and measuring Absorbance at 670.8 nm wavelength. This standard also ensures the accuracy of the determination by adding aluminum and sodium to counteract its interference.
