This standard specifies a method for the determination of zinc oxidation in aluminum oxide by flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), which is applicable in the range of 0.0010% to 0.040%. This method calculates the zinc oxidation content by adding muriatic acid dissolved samples to a sealing vessel and measuring Absorbance at a wavelength of 213.3 nm. This standard provides an accurate and reliable method for the quantitative analysis of zinc oxidation in aluminum oxide and eliminates aluminum interference by using aluminum matrix compensation.
