This standard specifies a method for the determination of aluminum content in tin-lead solder using electrothermal atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), applicable to the determination of aluminum content in the range of 0.0003% to 0.010%. Absorbance of aluminum in dilute muriatic acid medium is determined by hydrobromic acid, hydrogen peroxide and muriatic acid analysis samples. This standard is an arbitration analysis method, which ensures that background interference is eliminated during the determination process and provides an accurate means of analyzing aluminum content.
