GB/T 13080-2004 stipulates the determination of lead content in feed by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). The feed sample is first pretreated such as digestion to convert the lead element into a solution state. Absorbance is determined by AtomicAbsorption Spectroscopy based on the absorption characteristics of lead atoms to specific wavelengths of light. The lead content in feed is accurately calculated by comparing with the standard Linear dispersion. The standard provides an important means for mass safety testing of feed, which helps to prevent and control lead pollution, protect animal health and food safety. It is widely used in feed production, supervision and testing fields, and has since been revised.
