GB/T 11201-2002 provides for the determination of iron content in rubber by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). First, the rubber sample is digested and other treatments are carried out to allow iron to enter the solution. Absorption is determined by AtomicAbsorption Spectroscopy based on the absorption characteristics of iron atoms to specific wavelengths of light. The iron content in rubber is accurately calculated by comparing it with the standard Linear dispersion. This standard provides an effective means for mass testing of rubber and helps to control product performance, because iron content affects the aging and other characteristics of rubber. It is widely used in rubber production, mass inspection and other fields, and has since been revised.
