This standard applies to the determination of trace Hardness in water samples, including softening water, boiler feed water, condensate water, etc. The Hardness value of water samples is calculated by titration using a standard solution of disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA) under specific pH conditions. The standard specifies reagents, instruments, determination methods and treatment of interfering factors to ensure the accuracy of Hardness determination. It is suitable for the analysis of water samples with Hardness range from 0.5 μmol/L to 200 μmol/L.
