This standard specifies the use of salicylaldehyde Spectrophotometric method, spectrophotometry to determine the content of diethylenetriamine in surface water and aerospace industry wastewater. The measurement range is 0.4 to 3.2 mg/L water samples, which can be determined after diluting for samples containing more than 3.2 mg/L. Diethylenetriamine reacts with salicylaldehyde under alkaline conditions to form a yellow compound and is determined by spectrophotometry at 390 nm wavelength. This method is suitable for water quality monitoring and the detection of industrial wastewater.
