This standard specifies the method for determining the contrast ratio of white and light Paints, for paints with a film lightness value of not less than 6. The contrast ratio of the film is calculated by applying the Coating Spreader to a transparent polyester film or black and white card paper and measuring its reflectance on the black and white underside with a reflectance meter. The standard details the instruments, materials and operating procedures required for the determination and provides guidance on how to report the test results.
