This standard specifies a method for the determination of iodine and bromine content in soil and water system sediments using semi-melt-Inductance coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The applicable detection range is: iodine 0.37 μg/g to 100 μg/g and bromine 0.66 μg/g to 100 μg/g. The detection limit of the method is 0.11 μg/g for iodine and 0.2 μg/g for bromine. The sample is melted at high temperature and then analyzed using Inductance coupled plasma mass spectrometry technology to ensure the accurate determination of iodine and bromine.
