This standard specifies a method for the determination of the content of chromium, iron, manganese, cobalt, nickel, zinc, arsenic, selenium, silver, cadmium, tin, antimony, tellurium, lead and bismuth in copper and copper alloys using Inductance Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). Applicable to the quantitative analysis of these elements in copper and its alloys, the determination range is 0.00005% to 0.0050%. The method is performed by dissolving the sample in nitric acid, using steel as Internal standafe element, to optimize operating conditions. Standard mode is used for the determination of most elements, and collision/reaction cell mode can be used for iron and selenium elements. This standard is designed to ensure accurate determination of harmful elements in copper and copper alloys to meet quality control and compliance requirements.
