This standard specifies the ion chromatograph method for the determination of hexavalent chromium in electrical and electronic products. It is suitable for the content detection of hexavalent chromium in polymer materials. The standard includes the content of reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, analysis steps and result calculation. The sample is dissolved by an appropriate organic solvent and the hexavalent chromium is extracted using an alkaline extract. The hexavalent chromium in the sample is determined by the ultraviolet detector of Ion Chromatography through the purple-red complex formed by the reaction with 1,5-diphenylcarbonyl-dihydrazine under acidic conditions. This method guarantees the accurate determination of hexavalent chromium content in electrical and electronic products to meet environmental protection requirements.
