This standard specifies the determination method of heavy metals content in footwear and its components. The nine heavy metals of arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, mercury, nickel, lead and antimony are analyzed by microwave plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) method (MP-AES). This standard applies to all footwear products to ensure that they meet the relevant heavy metals limit requirements and provide a scientific basis for the quality control of footwear products.
