GB/T 16484.20-2009 standard specifies the determination method of nickel oxidation, manganese oxidation, lead oxidation, aluminum oxide, zinc oxidation and thorium oxidation in rare earth chloride and carbonic acid light rare earth. The method uses Inductance Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), by dissolving the sample in nitric acid and in dilute acid medium for determination. Internal standafard method is used as ionization source to correct for determination accuracy. The standard is applicable to trace analysis of rare earth chloride and carbonic acid light rare earth samples, providing a standardized technical method for rare earth chemical analysis.
