This standard specifies the ultrasonic plate wave flaw detection method for sheet metal, covering the definition of terms, flaw detection equipment, comparison specimens, plate wave mode selection, flaw detection methods and defect assessment. It is applicable to sheet metal with a thickness not greater than five times the surface wave wavelength of the sheet metal under inspection. The standard provides standardized technical guidance for sheet metal inspection in production and quality control.
