GB/T 20194-2006 "Animal feeding stuffs - Determination of starch content - Polarimetric method"

This standard specifies the steps and requirements for the determination of starch content in feed by polarimetry. This method is not suitable for feeds containing ingredients with Miscellaneous Optical inspection activity and insoluble in 40% ethanol, such as potato pulp, sugar beets, soybean products, etc. In addition, when the amylose content in starch exceeds 40%, this method should not be used for determination, such as high amylose corn starch, etc. For these special cases, enzymatic determination of starch content is recommended.
