The AATCC 186-2018 standard defines a test method for climate resistance of Spinning & weaving products, including coated fabrics, to evaluate the degradation performance of materials primarily through UV irradiation and moisture exposure. Testing uses laboratory equipment to simulate artificial climate conditions, including Fluorescent Ultraviolet lamps and condensation or spray humidification systems. Specimens are exposed at specified UV irradiance and temperature and humidified periodically. The degradation resistance of materials is indicated by measurement of percentage strength loss or change in colour fastness. This standard is applicable to assess the durability and Stability of fabrics in the actual use environment.
