This standard specifies a high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) method for the determination of the content of five ammonium chloride antimicrobials in toothpaste (Laura ammonium chloride, benzethonium chloride, cetamine chloride, metamine chloride). It is suitable for the determination of the content of ammonium chloride antimicrobials in toothpaste. The detection limits of the method are 0.075 g/kg (Laura ammonium chloride, benzethonium chloride), 0.0125 g/kg (cetamine chloride) and 0.025 g/kg (cetamine chloride), respectively.
